Nuclear Power Plant

Stabiloc™ was contacted by a Nuclear Power Plant in Western United States. They had been using “IMB’s” – Improvised Manhole Barriers. This “barrier” was a three hundred pound piece of coned concrete with an I-bolt installed to facilitate moving the barrier on and off the manhole covers. Security forces needed to be able to enter the manhole cover with quick response and their current system did not allow for speedy access.
Matching manhole covers were machined to receive Stabiloc™ and upon installation it was determined that the concrete barriers were best suited for the parking lot. The Stabiloc™ Model 911 is currently deployed in a number of nuclear facilities in and around the United States. The user-friendly design and speed with which security forces can enter the manhole cover proved to be important selling points for the customer.
